Run4Philippines at the Berkeley Half Marathon

Run4Philippines at the Berkeley Half Marathon

Typhoon Haiyan has devastated the eastern portion of the Philippines last week. The entire city of Tacloban and surrounding areas have been wiped out. It is heartbreaking to watch the news and see survivors without anything. Although no one in my family was affected by this tragedy, we have a family friend that lost her brother. The best way I know how to help is to run.

In honor of all those affected by the Haiyan, I will be running the 10K race at the Berkeley Half Marathon on Sunday, November 24, 2013. I am also raising funds for AmeriCares to benefit those affected in the Philippines. If you would like to help, please click on the link below:

No donation is too small and every little bit helps! From the bottom of my heart, maraming salamat (thank you very much)

The Road to 13.1

I decided to embark on the journey of running the Wipro San Francisco Marathon on June 16, 2013.  I even signed up to do the training program in January… To get myself in tip top running shape I have been getting serious about my runs. I like to call it my pre-training training before the big day. It wasn’t too bad running around Golden Gate Park but I realized that I needed to work on speed vs. endurance. I am sure it will all flow together naturally. It felt great to be out in the open running and observing my surroundings. It totally reminded why I fell in love with running in the first place.  A picture below to kick off this journey:
